Omkara – Shakespeare’s Othello

I was flabbergasted by Vishal Bhardwaj‘s Maqbool, an incredible adaptation of Shakespeare’s Macbeth starring Late Irfan Khan. Set amidst the insurgency-hit Kashmir conflicts of 1995 and civilian disappearances, Haider is a modern-day adaptation of William Shakespeare's tragedy Hamlet. Omkara is also part of his Shakespeare trilogy (Maqbool, Omkara, Haider). Omkara works extremely well as a contemporary adaption of Othello in rural Uttar Pradesh India. It has the best suiatable cast, and some of the best performances I’ve ever seen of some of these actors. Let us Understand the Comparison in this Video.
